Who are you?
A mom. A wife. A daughter. A sister. A friend. A cook. A cleaner. A quiet thinker. A loud laugher.
I count myself lucky in these day-to-day roles
That inspire my work as
A photographer.
How did you get to where you are today?
A winding road through a couple universities, the trails of Japan and so many other inspiring countries. Upon finding a note I wrote to myself in high school with the dream of becoming a photographer, I moved to Toronto and am doing it. Not without the support, of course, of my incredible family, which is another dream altogether that I never knew I had.
Tell us a bit about your business as a family photographer.
I’ve been photographing strong families and the most incredible children since 2009 in Toronto and occasionally back home in Saskatchewan. I work on-location, meaning we choose a beautiful outdoor location or a meaningful spot to you and your family. I use natural light whenever possible and bring studio lighting when shooting indoors.
Do you offer other photography services?
Yes! I love working with small businesses and entrepreneurs to create their brand’s online presence. This can include headshots (in studio or your own working environment), product photography, or a total branding package where we get to the heart of your company and capture a wide array of elements that you need for your online presence.
How would you describe your photography style?
Bright, fresh, fun! When working with families, I aim to get that perfect shot, which means planning the best lighting and getting everyone close together. The fun part comes though when it all unravels and we document the candids in between. In these moments you will find me chasing kids and rolling in the dirt…
What inspires you?
My son. I get to see the world for the first time all over again and learn about pure love, happiness, simplicity, and what family is all about.
What is your mission?
Capturing life in the early years to archive memories for the later years. I have been so blessed by my Mom who has documented our lives from the get go. Yes, it’s special for me to look at the photos, but it’s even more special to see her going through them all now at the age 76 and vividly replaying our golden years with Dad. Family photos really do increase in value over time. I see it so clearly now.
Time. It’s fleeting. Thank you for carving out a moment to get to know me. Let’s get to know you, too! Send me a personal message at info@fogelphotography.ca or by clicking here to discuss your next photography project.
